Every great love story has a moment where the music swells. The rain starts, someone turns back, and a single look says everything. And somewhere just out of frame, if you are very lucky, someone is paying attention.
That someone is us. As a Charleston luxury wedding photographer team, we could tell you that our job is to take beautiful pictures, and that would be true. But the truer answer, the one we would give you over champagne at the end of a long reception, is that our job is to notice. The thumb tracing slow circles across a knuckle during the vows. The breath your partner holds right before they see you for the first time. The half second when a laugh melts into happy tears. Those tiny, fleeting details are what make a love story unmistakably yours, and finding them is not only our profession. It is our absolute favorite thing in the world.
So we decided to prove it.

On our recent trip back to the Pacific Northwest, where Moon & Palm first began, we carried our own branding session out to the windswept sands of Cannon Beach. Haystack Rock stood guard behind us like the most dramatic wedding guest imaginable. (Yes, that Haystack Rock. If you just whispered "Goonies never say die," you are officially our kind of people.)
Here is the twist. When two photographers step in front of the camera for a branding session, you usually see their friendship: matching laughs, coordinated outfits, maybe a celebratory high five. We have done that, and we adore it. This time, we wanted to show you something else entirely. We cast ourselves as the leading roles in a love story. Not as best friends, and not as business partners, but as two people who might just be falling for each other on a foggy Oregon shoreline.
Why would two best friends do such a thing? Because a love story is a story first, and stories can be told in endless ways. The very same two people can read as playful, as nostalgic, or as achingly romantic, depending entirely on who is directing the scene and what they know how to look for. We wanted you to see, frame by frame, just how much intention lives inside every image we create.

You will find it everywhere in these photographs. A hand reaching back across wet sand. Foreheads tipped together as the tide slips out. A glance over one shoulder that says "come find me," straight out of a Nicholas Sparks novel, minus the rowboat. Every image was composed, directed, and felt exactly the way we approach your engagement session or your wedding day: with patience, with curiosity, and with deep respect for the quiet moments that live between the big ones.
That same instinct is what you receive on your wedding day, only doubled. Moon & Palm is built on two lead photographers at every single wedding, never an assistant and never a trainee, and always included rather than offered as an upcharge. While one of us is capturing your vows, the other is catching your father's jaw tightening in the front row. While one of us is on the dance floor, the other is quietly documenting your grandparents slipping out hand in hand. Two perspectives, standing in two places, at the very same second. Nothing is left to luck, because we simply do not believe in leaving your love story up to chance.

There are many talented photographers in South Carolina, and choosing the one who will hold your memories is no small decision. So here is our gentle, slightly biased case: choose the storytellers who choose love, over and over again. We choose it at every session, from Lowcountry engagements beneath the moss draped cypress trees to candlelit receptions on the Charleston peninsula. We choose it in the way we plan your timeline, in the way we move through your day almost like a choreographed dance, and in the way we deliver your gallery like a love letter you get to open again and again.
If we can make a foggy beach and two best friends feel like the final scene of a romance film, just imagine what we can do with the real thing. Your real thing. The vows you have been rehearsing in the car, the people who flew across the country to watch you say them, and the love that brought you here in the first place.
Two perspectives, infinite love stories. We cannot wait to tell yours with every ounce of love, passion, and artistry it deserves.
