There are some sessions that feel extra special- and Victoria and Austin's engagement session will forever hold a place in our hearts because drumroll PLEASE....
They were our very first South Carolina engagement session after reopening our calendars here on the East Coast!
And honestly? We could not have dreamed up a sweeter couple to kick off this new chapter with.
From the moment we met them, Victoria and Austin were pure sunshine. The kind of couple that makes you immediately feel like old friends catching up. Full of laughter, constant giggles, and the most infectious joy to be around. They have that effortless chemistry that makes documenting them feel less like work and more like getting to witness something really special unfold in real time.
One of our favorite things about them? Their secret handshakes. Yes-plural
These two have the cutest little bit of creating secret handshakes together, and not only did they show us theirs...they made one for us too! Naturally, there was lots of laughter, lots of chaos, and lots of "wait, do that again, I messed it up" energy involved.
But beneath all the sweetness and silliness, there was also something incredibly tender about this session. Austin is currently studying to be a PA and preparing to leave for schooling, unsure of which school he has been matched with. Which means these two are facing an upcoming season of long distance-something many of our engaged couples know can be bittersweet. There's excitement for the future, of course, but also the ache that comes with temporary separation and missing your person. And yet, despite that looming chapter ahead, Victoria and Austin showed up by choosing joy.
They soaked in every moment together-frolicking through blooming azaleas, wandering across bridges hand in hand, rolling around on a picnic blanket like they were starring in their own little rom-com. It truly felt like spring itself had bloomed around them.
But perhaps our favorite moment of the evening came at the very end.
Victoria shared with us that she had been having a hard day before the session. She wasn't feeling her best-she felt bloated, uncomfortable, and just not particularly confident walking in. And then after an hour of laughing, twirling, loving on her fiancé, and simply being in the moment...
She told us she was leaving feeling more beautiful than when she arrived. And if we're being honest? That right there is one of the biggest reasons we do what we do.
Yes, we love documenting love stories.
Yes, we adore preserving memories for our couples.
But helping our clients-especially our girls-see themselves the way their loved ones see them? Helping them walk away feeling radiant, confident, and beautiful? That will always be one of the greatest honors of this job.
Victoria and Austin, thank you for trusting us with this season of your story. Thank you for being the most joyful, darling humans to begin our South Carolina chapter with.
If this session is any indication of what's to come here on the East Coast...
We are so, SO ready.
